Success is a marathon, not a sprint!

As we approach our second year of building our brand we have had a great journey thus far. It has been an awesome, scary, nerve-wrecking, exciting ride, to say the least! Even though we have reached several milestones along the way, we are not yet where we want to be. When you have a large vision for your dream, sometimes you lose sight of how far you have come.

We often have to remind ourselves that there is no such thing as overnight success. They say Rome wasn’t built in a day, or as we say; Oprah wasn’t built in a day! Why is it that we look at the success of others like, Oprah, Tyler Perry, Beyonce, and admire their success, but really have no idea how many years of blind, sweat, tears, were put into it? We see the end result of their perseverance, and that's what a lot of people crave. But, just like a runner preparing for a marathon, we have to train hard and prepare for the race. During your race, remember these 3 keys:

Know when to rest, take a break

Breaks are important — Its okay to take a breather. Its necessary for your success and to be able to sustain your momentum while building, creating and going after your goals. Otherwise, you will burnout. Yes, you need to consistently work hard to achieve success, but at the same time, you’ve got to know when you need a break. And when you pick up the pace again, you will have more energy, new thoughts, ideas and a renewed mind.

Slow, but steady

Your consistent efforts will always pay in the long run. Taking small steps towards bigger goals can take time, but the key to this is to celebrate your “small” successes along the way! Write down quarterly or monthly goals to reach, and before you know it, you will have accomplished many goals along the way. In the end, slow and steady wins the race!

Never quit!

We want to encourage you to continue running your race towards success and never give up! Don’t worry about who is ahead of you or how far you have to go. Be patient and grind hard, every single day! #TheMarathonContinues!
